Glass Eye Pete by Dave Alton

Pete’s the only one in his class
To have one eye made of glass.
When playing marbles he’s quite shy
He simply pops out his eye:
When other marbles roll about
Pete’s glass eye can seek them out.
He sometimes threads it on a string:
it watches the conker swing,
Then, seeing its chance, cracks the thing.
Pete has one eye made of glass
There is no one else in his class.
